The British attempt to seize powder and guns from Colonial stores at Lexington and Concord fail, and a short skirmish sets the entire
countryside against the British column. Retreating back to Boston, they are beset by Colonial militia behind every tree along the way.
When the badly mauled force makes it back, Boston is under seige. To get guns closer to Boston, the Colonials take a small peninsula jutting into Boston harbor, and fortify Breeds Hill, afterward mistaken for Bunker Hill, further back on the peninsula. The British are aware of the serious threat this makes, and dispatch troops in boats across the harbor to assault the hill. As the attack proceeds, the American militial decimates the disjointed attacks sent against them. But, as their powder supplies begin to wane, the Americans can no longer hold out, and the retreat begins. Played with 1/15th scale figures using The British Are Coming rules. |
