1777. For three years the Colonial Army has been defeated time and time again by the British as they attempt to quell the rebellion.
As the British make their way toward Philidelphia, then the American capital, General George Washington tries to cut them off, using the Brandywine Creek as a natural barrier to strengthen his line. During the campaign movement phase of the game, the British maneuver their troops around behind Washington, just as they originally did in 1777. However, their movements become disjointed, and a lucky reconaisance by the Americans spots a section of the British forces, and defeats them roundly. The remnants retreat. Now the British attack is broken up, and attacks piecemeal, only to be destroyed in detail. Philidelphia is saved. Played with 1/15th scale figures using The British Are Coming rules. |
